Our History
The AZ Flames football club is a not for profit organization, that was established originally as the Titans football club in 2009. Our football club consists of up to 120 football players ranging from age 5 to 14 as well as a group of cheerleaders supporting our football players.
In our initial season, we competed in Arizona Competitive Youth Football League (ACYFL). That league folded, so we had to move on to Alliance Youth Sports for the past two seasons (AYSA). We competed very well in both leagues, being one of only a few clubs who sent every one of our teams to the playoffs and had multiple all-star selected players. Most importantly, in partnership with Valley Christian High School (our home field), we provided an atmosphere for our young athletes that is second to none. We retain our volunteer coaches from year to year and pride ourselves in teaching our players the fundamentals of football along with life skills that we hope they will always remember as they grow into young men.
OUR PARTNER – AZ FLAMES TRACK CLUB
2012 is a year of change for our organization, and we couldn’t be more proud of it. We have now become the AZ Flames football club, by merging with the AZ Flames Track Club. This allows the opportunity for our football players to become exposed to track and field, and the ability to play year round sports together. The Arizona Flames Track Club is a member of the Arizona Association of the USA Track and Field Organization (USATF). Each year the club sends athletes to Invitational, State, Region, and National championships. The Flames Track Club provides personal coaching and training in all track and field events for athletes from Sub-Bantam (5-8) to Masters. Head coach James Smith is a USATF Level 2 certified coach, USATF Master’s Track and Field Chairman, Head Coach at Westwood High School, Assistant Coach at Mesa Community College, and Master level USATF official.  For more information on AZ Flames Track Club, please visit www.azflames.com.
OUR LEAGUE – ARIZONA YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES
Just as exciting in 2012 is our move to what will be the premiere, most competitive, age based, youth football league in Arizona, Arizona Youth Sports Leagues (AYSL). Â AYSL offers youth sports programs from soccer, to baseball, and even flag football. AYSL is attractive to our club due to the commitment to the players and volunteers from their management on down. Fair play, commitment to the kids, and top notch facilities really make this a league that our club will grow with for the future! PHILOSOPHY
The Flames Football Club is all about dedicated players, coaches, and cheerleaders. Coaches work with the kids to properly teach the game of football, while instilling sportsmanlike attitude and values such as: teamwork, honesty, fair play and citizenship. Having a good attitude, winning and losing with dignity, respecting the official’s decisions, playing by the rules, and giving maximum effort are equally as important as the development of solid football skills and safety. We also encourage our players to maintain satisfactory grades in school and emphasize the importance of keeping a proper relationship and balance between scholastic and athletic endeavors. For these reasons, we hope you will agree we are a great organization to support and welcome your commitment in sponsoring our organization.
